Baby Names

WDYT of these names for our boys?

Okay, so I SWEAR no one else has as hard of a time as me and DH picking out names.  Our last name is freaking D!ck.... seriouly...I am not kidding.  We have come across so many names that we like that we absolutely cannot use.  Just to name a few are Jack, Sawyer, Patton, Landon, Maxim, etc.  So here's what we've come up with.....

John Anderson and Samuel Nolan

WDYT?  I HATE picking out names and I hate that we can't use any of our favorite names.

You made me laugh!!!  Especially with Patton:)

But seriously, I like both of your chosen names.  The middle names are unusual without being overly trendy, too.  Well done.

Oh....and I just thought of another name that would not go with your last name.  Chase  Wink

  • I like Samuel Nolan and I like Anderson as a mn, but I think that John is the epitome of a plain name imo. Just very generic, you know? Plus, I think a longer name would go better with your last name. I almost just suggested Nicholas! Ha! Don't do that! You could use William, George, Henry, Owen...

We have considered William and George as well.

  • I don't like John Anderson at all. Samuel is ok. I like Nolan. Samuel Nolan is not a bad name- just a matter of preference or personal choice.

I like the William rec (but I am biased).

  • My best friend's last name is *** too. She hates it! They have a little boy they named Kamden. They used a K, so it would not be "C. ***." Also, his name is Aaron if that gives you any other name ideas for such a difficult last name!

    Good luck!

With a one syllable last name, I like first names that are more than one syllable. My last name is one syllable so I understand that's it hard to find names that are longer. Samuel is nice, but Sam D!ck sounds awful. John D!ck is too short.
  • I love them both - DS#1 is John, and Samuel turns up pretty regularly on our lists. But I also have a last name that goes with some names and have to think carefully, and I might be a little bit hesitant with Samuel because it usually turns into Sam, which sounds like some..

I also like: Henry, Alexander, Charles and Daniel.

    Hi again,

I responded on 12-24 as well...

I would stay away from William. Someone will inevitably call him Willy now and then. Willy D!ck?  Willy is yet another name for... you know. Not good.

    My response from 12-24 C&P'd:

I like Samuel a lot! Much better than John. I think you need a name of more than one syllable w/ your last name. Others that I think sound good are:

Nathaniel, Theodore, Alexander, Jeremy, Jameson, Campbell, Jefferson, Cameron, Elijah, Callahan, Colton

    Picking names is tough. GL!!

  • good choices!
  • LOL! This made me laugh, too. Too bad I really like the name Landon... but yeah.
They are both not bad names-think I like John Anderson better though!

  • I like the names you've picked and think they'll go well with your last name.
    Oy with the poodles already!

  • John + *** is not a good idea. You can't help but see the pimp connotation.
  • I actually like Nolan Anderson ***.?

Also, you win for funniest last name :)?
