E.A.S.Y Method

Does anyone use this method from The Baby Whisperer?  I just recently started reading the book and have been trying this today. I really like the idea of the eat, activity, sleep routine.... and it hasn't been too hard, except for DS will not stay asleep the entire time and getting him to go back to sleep is so difficult (especially using this method, picking up and putting back down over and over).  Anyone use this and have success?  Any tips??  TIA

Yeah I think in one day I've definitely seen this.  I wonder what I could do in place of this... Lordy he won't sleep more than 30 mins in there.... GEEESH!!!

  • We just tried it for a week. FAIL. DS is a HORRIBLE sleeper, so I would spend 30 minutes feeding, then 2 1/2 hours trying to get him to go to sleep, then it was time to feed again. There was never really any "A" because I finally figured that screaming must count as activity since he's so overtired he never gets interested in anything and just screams all the time. DS (and, therefore, DH and I) never slept longer than 45 minutes at a time in a 24 hour period, for a total of 9-10 hours per 24-hour period. We lasted a week like this, and are finally giving up. At least before we tried the method, he was having a couple of 3-4 hour naps per 24-hour period, even though neither of them were at night.

FWIW, if you read the follow up book (Baby Whisperer Solves All Your Problems), Tracy explains that you should ***NOT*** use pick up/put down for any baby younger than 4 months, because it's too stimulating for a young infant.
