Paci. Update

A few weeks ago I posted about how I finally got rid of my 4 yo pacifier, or "suck" as he called it. He only got it at bed time, but was addicted. Once I told him it was broken he asked for it a few more times, but has not had it since! I'm the one who is a bit sad that my son's last item from babyhood is finally gone. :( He's potty trained, goes to school on a bus 5 days a week, and now does not need his pacifier. Sigh - they grow up to fast!

  • Glad to hear it was a smooth transition. ?My 16 month old is so addicted to his paci, and I am not ready to pick a fight with him over it yet. ?:)

  • OMG, I cannot tell you how relieved I am that you shared this! My 3-yo is a complete and total paci ADDICT. It's limited to bed/naptime, but she will pull the "I'm tired" routine just to get a hit (as we call it--ha!). For so long I've put off the perceived horror of getting rid of it, that recently I kind of resigned myself to the idea of her having it until someone makes fun of her at a sleepover party when she's like, 12. I can't decide whether to push the issue now or not. Did you try to take it away any earlier, or has he had it up to this point?
  • This was our/my first attemp. I think it was more difficult for me than him.
