WWYD? Summer activities

DD has been in a preschool program for this school year (fall-spring).  I am looking into summer activities.  She will continue with ballet.  We are going to do swimming.  I think we will try soccer and cooking class as well.  Do you enroll your child in a school type class as well?  I know it sounds like a lot, but they are paced at different times throughout the summer.

  • I wish we had these kinds of options around here. There is nothing other than the library that DD can do until she is 3.

I think the preschool could be put on hold for the summer.

  • I am starting to look into something for Jack for the summer.  He loves school and doesn't like not having something to go to.  So, I need to find something to keep him busy this summer.  We are going to sign up for storyhour at the library, but I need something else for the kids.  Whatever it is, I will make sure we have a couple days of nothing.  That way I can plan down time, swimming at my moms etc.

  • I like the idea of a break in the summer so I've never had DS do a school program.  However, he does get tutored in the summer, but that's unavoidable.

For DD this summer I am planning to continue her music class and we'll probably keep doing storytime at the library, but that is drop-in so we can decide week to week.

DS is doing a two day/week outdoor daycamp and a sleep away camp for 5 days.

I'm planning to be at the pool a lot this summer and make that our activity so I hope the weather cooperates!
