Sleep help needed!

DS has been getting up at 2:30am for his nighttime feeding for a week or so now, however in the past few days he has been refusing to go to sleep afterwards and won't sleep again until 5:30am-ish.  I feel like I have tried everything.  I have tried to nurse him more... I have tried to burp him longer and do baby massage techniques to relieve gassiness... I have tried cuddling with him while he is lying on my chest and while he is lying on the bed next to me... I have tried rocking and bouncing him, walking up and down the hall with him... but nothing seems to work.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? I would love some suggestions on getting him to sleep better.  The rest of the night and the day he sleeps and eats in appropriate increments, just not during this time period.  I am afraid that if it continues I will never be able to get up and ready for work in time. :(

Thanks in advance for your help in restoring sanity to my household!

  • my lo has been doing the same thing.  I wonder if they're fussy becuase of the growth spurt??

  • Oh I am so glad that we are not alone with this... I am just beside myself.  Our other son never did anything like this so I have no idea how to handle it.  Has anything worked for you with your LO?
  • Not sure if this is something you want to do, but a couple weeks ago my DD had a cold and would wake up in coughing fits and be too upset to put herself back to sleep, I just brought her in the bed with us and she slept as good as she always had.  Once her cold got better, she went back to STTN in her crib without waking up.  I was a little worried she'd get used to coming in the bed with us, but she didn't.
