Mastitis ?

Has anyone here fought a breast infection without using antibiotics? I have recommendations for natural treatments from my midwife, but she also said that sometimes that just isn't enough. Should I just go ahead and get the antibiotics?

    I haven't tried any natural remedies, but I started feeling much better after 2 days on antibiotics. Remember to take probiotics afterward to prevent thrush.

    I did not even try, that sounded too scary.  If the infection gets bad enough you will get a breast abcess and need surgery.  I actually had to go thru 3 rounds of antibiotics for a recurring infection.  I would take the antibiotics, esp if you already have a fever.

    I took antibiotics.  I didn't try anything else.  I felt so horrible and had the chills so bad.  I just wanted to be better immediately.

    I had to go on antibiotics because I had a fever of 103.7.  Sorry I can't help :(
