Ladies who took prental classes...
Hi Ladies,
I was wondering if you could do me a HUGE favor. I
am currently becoming certified to teach prenatal classes. I am putting
my syllabus together for the classes, with info to teach etc.
I was wondering if you could share your experience with me, to
help me decide what is beneficial and what is not, for the classes. (or
if you know someone and want to share their experience, that is great
too)!!!
Did you enjoy your classes? Why or why not? Do you feel like you learned what you wanted to learn? Or did you feel like there was something you wanted to learn that you did not? Was some of the info too much?
What did you think of the group activities? Like them or could do without them?
Any info, good or bad, would be much appreciated!!!

The classes that DH and I took, helped me not to get too overwhelmed with the whole birth process. My water broke at 35wks and if not for the classes I would not have known what was happening. But I stayed calm and called Doc, went to hospital, and had a baby. If not for the classes I prob would have paniced.
The classes gave me enough information to know what was happening, from my water breaking, what meds they would prob give me, and also what would happen once we got to the hospital. The only thing I wish we would have had more time for was Breastfeeding. The nurse teaching te classes kept trying to get someone to come in and talk to us about it, but it just never happened. So we got a pamphlet on breastfeeding. Also more about infant CPR.
And also if you teach in a hospital and are a L&D nurse there, it will make mom's who take the class more comfortable to see you when they go into labor.
