So sick of FB friend's AW status updates

I got contacted on FB by a woman I was friends with in high school.  We haven't spoken in about 18 years.  At first I was happy to be in touch with her again, but lately I'm ready to "unfriend" her because of her damn status updates.  While most of my friends are talking about being excited that baseball season has started, looking forward to job interviews and more boring-but-relatable things, this woman's are always as follows:

"Marie is excited that her neighbor's house is listed for this because my house value goes up! (and then links us to a listing for a $1.5 million dollar house)"

"Marie wonders if 2 weeks with the family in Hawaii at this resort will be long enough" (and links us to a very expensive resort website)

"Marie is very proud of her prize winning dog winning 1st place!"

"Marie just ran a marathon and shaved off 5 minutes from her best time!"

Ugh, and then it hit me why I stopped being friends with her in the first place.

    Chrystal thinks that would get very annoying and would un friend Marie quickly.

    I know - I don't think constant AW status updates of any kind.  Even when people are constantly talking about their kids, it gets old.  Which is funny, because that's what we do here, but it's the purpose of this board.

    Ugh that is annoying. I have one of those. A few of her recent ones:

    "Rebecca is waiting forever at Tiffany's to get my ring resized - I'm going to be late meeting my trainer!"

    "Rebecca can't wait to be in Tahiti in X months!"

    "Rebecca just enjoyed her weekly mani/pedi at the spa after a hard week at work!"

    It gets old fast, no? At first I admit that I was jealous that she is dripping in money, but then changed my mind after realizing what kind of a person it has turned her into.

    De-friend her and be done with it.  I can't handle people like that.

    With the new format you can actually removed douches from your news feed. Hover over their name in your feed and you'll see 'Hide' appear.

    Oh, yeah, I would've unfriended her a while back, lol. That's just sad that she needs to flaunt that money in people's faces!

    I am guilty of always statusing about my kid ... but thats my life these days ... which is sad, lol.

    I had to defriend someone who CONSTANTLY statused negative things about our president. It was SO annoying and VERY judgemental/pessimistic. I so wanted to comment every time he posted one ... but instead I just defriended him.

    ditto this.  i finally did it today when she said she wanted to participate in a tea party because the president was spending "TOO much of OUR money."

    i don't think she paid attention in history class...  she has no idea what the tea party was really about.
