Dumb Question about Formula

Ok, so DS is going to start to have a bottle or 2 of formula per day since he is eating more than I can pump while at work.

Can you tell me if I can make a couple bottles or formula before I go to work and leave them in the fridge for the sitter? or is it better for her to have to make them as he needs them?

Also, is the filtered water that comes out of the fridge ok to mix it with or should I buy bottles. Sorry, I feel so uneducated on the subject......

TIA!

  • you sure can make the bottles ahead of time! once mixed formula is good for 24 hours.

the fridge water is fine if thats what you want to use.

  • You can do either way.  You may want to just let her mix them as needed, since you have that option, so that you don't waste formula if he ends up not drinking it.  And we just use the filtered water.
  • formula is good in the fridge for up to 24 hours (although i just make it in the morning for the day) and you can use cold tap water.  filtered fridge water is more than fine!
  • Great ~ thanks ladies!

  • FWIW, I prefer to mix bottles as needed... mainly because I don't have to take the time when LO is ready to eat to warm it up... We use tap water and just let it get warm and mix the bottle that way... less waiting time for LO.
