3rd Trimester

37.5 weeks and baby is breech

Lurker here.....I went for my 37.5 week appointment and found out my baby is breech.  I am so disappointed and scared.  And, now I am reading about increased chances of birth defects in breech babies and that may explain why they are breech.  I am trying acupuncture, moxibustion, and laying upside down, but being so far along i think I have to accept the fact that I am going to have a c-section.

Anyone experience their baby turn this late?  i am kind of freaking out!

    STOP READING!!!

If your ultrasounds have been great, and bloodwork has been fine...don't start worrying about birth defects!  Plenty of healthy babies are positioned breech!

  • I agree with PP stop reading so much into it.  A lot of babies born breach are happy and healthy.

    I hope baby turns... GL

  • My LO was breech the entire time. At 35 weeks i scheduled a c-section. I ended up going into labor at 36 weeks and had to have the c-section. My recovery was super easy. If you have any questions, feel free to page me.
  • i understand your fear- just remember though.. some of us who dont' have breech babies will have c-sections too.. lets just hope for a healthy baby! you'll be ok! :)

  • Definitely stop reading about birth defects. ?It only freaks you out when you have no real reason to be. ?As PP said, there are tons of perfectly healthy breech babies born every day. And there are literally thousands of uncomplicated cesarian births happening as we speak! ?I know it's not what you had planned, and it can be scary, but there's no reason to freak out - you and baby will be perfectly fine. ?My BFF delivered two breech babies by c-section in the past 4 years and they are both perfect and gorgeous healthy little girls. ?You'll be fine! And who knows? ?Your baby may turn at the last moment. ?:-)
  • That stinks, but try to stay positive!
  • I was breeched and I turned out fine. Smile  Your little babe can turn again before she/he comes so don't worry!  And a c-section doesn't mean anything negative; just think of it as another option that some women even prefer.
