How did you choose baby's formula?

Did you just go with what they provided at the hospital (if it worked)?  I imagine many of you had to try different formulas for colicky/reflux babies.  But assuming all goes well, how did you choose?  Is this a dumb question?  :)

    We went with what the hospital had but I also breastfeed too.

    Went with what they had at the hospital & it worked. They offered Similac & Emphimil. We started w/t he Similac & that worked fine so we stuck with it.

    I used whatever the hospital gave me and havent had a problem.

    both times my boys were getting one of the three major brands (whichever ones I had checks for) or Kirkland (costco) brand. My dr actually recommended the kirkland brand. There were no colic/major reflux. 

    Not a dumb question at all.

     edit: I bf and supplemented until 4-5 months old, then we switched to formula only.
