WWYD re: fever & daycare situation?

DD had a very mild fever this morning. I gave her some ibuprofen and sent her to daycare. She did fine all day. However she seemed hot when I picked her up. I just took her temp (in her ear) at 102.

DH and I are both going to a course tomorrow that we really cannot skip (our companies paid $$ for us to attend). My parents could watch dd if she is unable to go to daycare due to fever but they live an hour away (90 mins in rush hour). We would not have time to drop her off there tomorrow and make it back for the course due to the driving time. So, we'd have to drop her off tonight. My parents coming here is not an option as my mom has an appt tomorrow that she can't cancel.?

Should I drop her off tonight, just in case she's too sick to go to daycare? or keep her home assuming she'll be fine to go tomorrow morning?

?

The daycare handbook says she can't attend with a "high" fever fwiw, but I am more concerned about her being uncomfortable, etc than the rules.

  • I would plan on no daycare tomorrow.  102 goes beyond teething/a cold in my book.

  • If your parents can take her tonight, I would drop her tonight.  102 is a "higher" fever IMO.

I agree. ?I would just take her to your mom's tonight.?

  • I know you said you have a course, but people get sick-- you have sick leave for a reason. ?I'd use it. 102 is a pretty high fever, and I'd want my child to be as comfortable as possible, ?Just my .02
  • Thanks ladies, I'll bring her to grandma's tonight.

Ah- since my company shelled out $2K for this 2 day course and there's no one to go in my place... if my mom can watch her I think that's a better alternative. ?(My dd has a super relationship with her grandma).

  • I've definitely done the motrin and dropoff, but I would drop her off t onight. 102 is too high to count on it.

Sorry, therer you go, ok back to my Europe trip :-)
