f/u to emma waking up screaming

she checked out fine at the docs. the doctor thinks she's at that stage where instead of waking up and soothing herself back to sleep, she wakes up, realizes mommy or daddy aren't around and gets scared and cries. so... we may move madelyn out of the nursery until this passes. not sure how well that will work though. anyway, she said to go in every 5-10 minutes, show her that we are indeed still there and care and repeat. she said in most cases, it can take 2-7 days to break it.

it's amazing how after 2.5 months of us all sleeping, this just seems impossible. i mean, i am beat when i have to stay up with her.

  • Yeah, I think my daughter is going through this right now. We've been patting and shushing up a storm. At least my son can sleep through it all! I hope it all passes for you soon.

  • I am sorry poor Emma and poor you hope it passes soon.
  • My Emma has been doing this for her naps...she used to wake up so happy and cooing and jabbering away, now she screams...and stops as soon as she sees me. So I am thinking its the same thing. but she wakes Paige up...we may be moving them to 2 seperate rooms for naps if it continues. Thankfully she is still doing ok at night....
  • We had the same problem with Henry, although I think in his case its the reflux. We started moving him to a seperate room and unfortunately, now when we put them together, they wake each other up. I sort of wish we hadn't seperated them and just let them stay use to each other's noises!
