My 11 week old loves to sit up. Like, if you are playing with her and try to lay her down, she will cry. She also likes to stand up on my legs with me holding her torso... she's pretty strong.
My SIL said that someone was telling her it's bad for a baby's back to sit up too much. Has anyone ever heard this? I have never heard this before, and wondered if it's true.
Re: Bad to have a baby sitting up?
Hmmm I've never heard that before. DD liked to "stand" early like that too, and still likes it. She never really liked to be held in the cradle position because I think she liked to see what was happening around her. Things change, though: she used to hate being on her tummy and starting around 5 months she sleeps much better on her tummy.
Cute pic btw! I still can't figure out how to do a signature picture
Many of my family members have told me the same thing...that it is bad to let babies sit and stand at such a young age. My DD loved to stand and sit up when she was around 2 months old so I let her.
This was coming from the same women who told me to feed my baby honey when she had thrush!
