I've been EBFing for 9.5 months. OB is concerned and wants to put me on Provera for a week to start my period again. I've read it isn't safe in BM. Anyone having similar issues? Thanks!
I haven't seen mine yet. I keep thinking she's coming, but alas no AF. My OB wasn't really concerned at 6 mos pp when I went in for my annual. He even said it may be a while and no one could predict when she'll come back.
Dont be in a big rush. When i got it- it KILLED my supply and i could never get it back to the level before. and each one got worse.
I didn't get mine until right around nine months. my OB wasn't concerned at all. Honestly- i would put a phone call into LLL or a LC to talk about your concerns before taking meds. just to get another perspective. GL
I haven't gotten mine yet, but I was never really regular to begin with, so I'm not surprised. Here's a link from Kellymom about what meds are/aren't safe: kellymom.com/health/meds/aap-approved-meds.html
Why on earth would you want it back, unless of course you are TTC. It is completely normal to not have your period yet, some women don't get it until they completely wean DC. I haven't had my period since July 2007 between pregnancy and now breastfeeding and I am certainly not in a rush to get it back.

I know friends who haven't gotten their AF in 18 - 24 months because they're still BFing. My OB told me I may not get AF until I completely stop BFing, or I could get it at 8 weeks...everyone's different. Like pp, I would recommend talking to LLL or a LC before taking meds. unless there's a medical reason your OB is concerned.
Re: Anyone still waiting for AF?

I don't know why your OB would be concerned--that is totally normal. Maybe he/she is not as informed about breastfeeding issues?
My AF has not yet returned and my DD is 19 months old. This too is normal. We still nurse at night so I figure that's a factor.
