Metformin and BF

I have read contradicting reports of Metformin's effect on milk production. Has anyone taken Metformin while bf and did it effect your supply?

I have several friends who have PCOS and they have all had oversupplies of milk from it. the Metformin (from their accounts) helped control their supply and help with not having such an overactive letdown. two common things of women with PCOS. While i have PCOS (and both an oversupply and overactive letdown) I did not take metformin- so i dont have a personal account to share. My one friend said that she would not have been able to BF without taking metformin because her milk was so abundant that it would just drowned her son (same problem i had)- she said after she started the drug things became much more bearable.
I had no idea that PCOS can cause oversupply..no wonder I can get 7oz in a pumping session and my boobs are ginormous!!
My friend told me her RE said to stop BFing in order to start Met again... so hearing you can take it while BFing surprises me. I haven't started it again. I only took it to help with pregnancy. Wasn't aware I had PCOS until 2 years of infertility and 2 m/c's.
I started up around 4mo pp. I was on my 3rd pp period and figured if my period wasn't going to stop from bfing, at least it could come regularly by taking Met. Well pretty much as soon as I started it DD started spitting up and she'd never been a spitter before. I didn't realize the connection to starting Met until about 2 weeks later. Once I stopped taking it, she stopped spitting up as much.
I did not notice any effect on my supply, but things were fluctuating quite a bit around that time anyway with returning to work and getting used to pumping and coming down from the 3 month growth spurt, etc.
