Anyone have a Baby Jogger City Stroller?

I was really looking into the Phil & Ted Sport stroller, but after looking at them this weekend I was disappointed with the quality for the money.  Plus DH didn't like the fact that one kid sat in back of the other.  He figured the kid wouldn't be able to see very well and would end up kicking the kid in front. Stick out tongue

My mom picked up a brochure on the Baby Jogger City Series stroller that a sales lady was showing another couple.  I really liked the fact that you could fold it with one hand!  The model that I am looking at is kind of expensive, however I found a website that is selling a 2008 model for $100 cheaper.  I'm thinking I'll have to take advantage.  I've read many, many positive reviews, but just thought I'd ask to see if anyone has one of these strollers and what they think.

  • Hi. I have the City Mini for one child. My BFF also has one for her baby. The one hand fold is amazing and it really is that easy to use. I have held my 24 lb 10 month old with one hand and closed and put the stoller in my car. I have a Prius and it does not have the biggest trunk and it fits well. It is stable if you need to hang some shopping bags on it. Has a huge canapy and can lean back 150 degrees for sleeping. I think our baby will grow well into it because it's a decent size. My BFF bought it because she has to fold with one hand and carry it up 4 flights of stairs to her apartment.

Only negative I have for it is that it doesn't sit completely upright. So unlike the McClaren products, it starts off with a slight recline, so for the babies that like to lean forward, it's a little harder for them.

  • I was looking into the double one, but after seeing it in person have since changed my mind... the seats were VERY skinny and Rylee looked horribly uncomfortable.  We are now looking into a babyplanet or Tike Tech...

    Malakai - 8.3.09
    Ezra - 12.1.11 ASD
  • I love mine, I use it every day for walks. It pushes beautifully, and with 1 hand if necessary. The fold is amazing. DS is really comfy in it. The adjustable handlebar is awesome considering I am 5' tall. My only negative is that the drawstring for the recline is a pain, i feel like i need 3 hands to get it from reclined back to upright with DS in the stroller. I definitely recomend it, though and I would buy it again in a minute. I got mine at happymothers.com for $100 off too, and I think it was the last years model.

  • We have a 2009 City Elite.  We love it except that we haven't really used it yet.  We've still been using the Snugrider with the infant carrier, but she's close to being too big for it.  The quick fold is very nice.  I agree that the drawstring is kind of annoying.
