Disagreement between DH and I. WDYT?

So, I bought three of these pizzas a few weeks ago when they were on sale.  We opened one last night and it was covered in parsley.  We opened the other two and they are the same way.  I no longer have the reciept so I can't return them.  We still ate one last night but honestly the parsley was so overwhelming that I only had one piece.

So I took a picture and sent an email to the company.  DH says I am overreacting and why do I waste my time.  I say that they will not know there is a problem with their product if no one speaks up.  (FWIW, I also send emails to companies when I get a really great product too.)

Do you think this pizza looks different enough from the box that it was ok for me to complain?  Or am I just being a pita?

Re: Disagreement between DH and I. WDYT?

  • Honestly, I wouldn't have gone to the trouble to e-mail them a picture...but if you feel like doing it why should your DH care?  Obviously you don't feel it's a waste of your time or you wouldn't be doing it.

  • yeah, totally different and it's not like you asked DH to write the email for you....you did it.

it's not like the parsley is like mushrooms or something you could easily pick off....its on thick!  I would have been grumpy about it as well

  • Receipt or no receipt, I would have taken them back to the store where I bought them and the empty box from the one I'd eaten and asked for a refund.  I'm sure it was still $15 worth of pizza.  And I don't know whether I'd have taken the time to take a photo and upload it, but e-mailing the mfr is a good idea.

  • It took me all of 3 minutes to take the pic and send an email.  I guess I was just disapointed because we bought three of them and they all look the same.

He just thinks it's silly that I contact companies with my feedback.

I can't be the only one who does that right?

  • I get that one all time and it's not parsley, it's cilantro. But it's never been on that thick. I don't like cilantro so if it was on that thick I couldn't eat it.
  • that's a lot of friggin parsley!  I don't blame you!
  • this actually made me laugh, sorry! Who the heck puts that much parsley on ANYTHING???

that has to be a mistake, I would definately complain1

  • If you feel strongly enough about a $4 pizza to complain, go ahead.  If your DH disagrees, oh well.  You guys must have the perfect life if this is what you pick to argue about.  Whatever.
  • Um, you need your money back b/c I love those CPK pizzas and they don't normally (or should) look like that.  Your time will be well spent if CPK does the right thing and refunds you.

  • DAMN!  That is a lot of parsley!

I don't blame you at all for complaining.  I also think it was a good idea to take the picture.  Without the picture, you may have just looked like a pita.  Or a customer who likes to complain to try to get free stuff.

Having said that, I can see though why DH thinks you may be wasting your time.  I only say that though because DH and I have these arguments all the time.  Usually he is the one doing something that I think is time wasting -- like writing editorials to the paper in response to someone else.  In the end, I don't care what he does.  But that doesn't keep me from ribbing him a little bit.  Stick out tongue

If it wasnt for people like you who DO give feedback, how can companies improve their products?

Our life is otherwise perfect.  Thank you.

lololol---yes, complaining about pizza = perfect life!  That is funny.

but not complaining **just** because it's $4.00 must mean money grows on your trees!

Who cares the cost, if its not right, its not right.  Period.

  • If it was something expensive I'd complain, maybe, but for $4 I'd just throw it out and buy a different brand.

Again, it was $15 worth of pizza since I have three of them.  And it's not a question of the money.  It expecting a certain product and gettting something completely different.

So, is this worth asking for a divorce over?  What do I put on the paperwork?  "Disagreement over cilantro and how much is too much?"

  • I buy those pizza's all the time and mine have NEVER looked like that, EVER. I agree with PP that it should be cilantro and not parsley. But if i ever opened one like that i would not have eaten it.
  • I just think you're ridiculous to spend so much time on it - between your complaint and taking the pictures and then fighting with your husband about it and then posting here.  Sheesh.  Then again, I'm spending a lot of time in this post too.  I won't be back.  Bye.

  • I think I have a girl crush on you after this post. This is SO something I'd do. I'm always saying "I'm going to write a strongly worded letter!"  That is some serious herb abuse. And yea, I would have taken 5 min to do it. I bet you'll get at least a few coupons in the mail for free pizza.

I mean, between Pablo feeding me peeled grapes and Fernando painting my toenails. Cuz that's my perfect life.

Um obviously. It's ruining your "perfect life."

And good bye to our resident ray of sunshine!

I'm sure you won't be back but I will still take the next few precious moments to explain that the "conversation" between DH and I took all of two minutes.  I posted here because I thought someone might have an opinion similar to mine.  I was right.

Gibs=bitter like a pizza w/ too much cilantro.

To everyone else, thanks for confirming that this was not normal.  I was so looking forward to these pizzas too!

  • I think it was a great idea to take the pic and email it.  Like any company, they would prefer to get negative feedback and be given an opportunity to make it right then lose you as a customer.  Not to mention the word of mouth you will spread if they either do the right thing or the wrong thing.

Considering it only took 3 minutes to take pic/upload/send email for $15 worth of pizza.  I think it is worth it.  I'd love to know how CPK responds.

Oh, and I'm glad you have a 'perfect life', LOL.

  • Ah, gibs, so sunny and warm as always.

As for being ridiculous to spend so much time on something, at least you see that you have also now spent nearly as much as the OP on this "issue" just trying to make her feel silly.

I spit my water all over reading this line.

Yes...I'm sure your entire day was consumed with pizza=gate 2009....the herbed pizza debacle....whatever you want to call it...and I hope your DH and you can make amends.  Cilantro isn't worth divorcing over...had it been parsley or oregano though....call the lawyor.

And this post is def 5 stars for the entertainment value.

I always complain about everything...but I also write when I have good things to say as well.  Companies appreciate it....trust.

  • The real question here is, does Gibs ever get laid?

    I am thinking not.so.much.

  • I would have complained also.  And I do complain to companies when something isn't right.

I wrote to Huggies not long ago because I bought a pack of diapers and almost half the pack had tabs that were ruined.  They were so short.  They sent me coupons and a coupon for a free jumbo pack of diapers.

If you don't complain, they can't fix what's wrong.

And that does not look like the same pizza at all...

  • I complain to and compliment companies all the time about their products.  It takes 30 seconds via email and I always get coupons for free products to replace whatever I had a problem with, or to thank me for giving them feedback.  Seems worth it to me for what I get back out of it.
