Wondering if anyone here uses cloth diapers. I'm due in July and considering it, but there is so much information on the web that I'm a little overwhelmed. Wondering if anyone would be willing to meet me to talk about it and explain it to me. I'm in the Southfield/Oak Park/ Ferndale area.
Re: cloth diapering
We are planning on cloth diapering and we actually have a natural parenting WAHM buisiness that has cloth diapers, baby carriers, and all eco-friendly furniture.
Feel free to e-mail me at nicole@bebeology.com and I will be happy to give you more info or meet with some items.
We will also have a booth at the Green Street Fair in Plymouth May 1st through 3rd where you can stop by for demonstrations.
We do! We've only used prefolds and Thirsties covers though. I'd like to try the AIO but I'm cheap and prefolds work great for us. We bought all of our diapers and supplies at Tree City Diapers in Ann Arbor. When I was pg my H and I took a free workshop at the store about cloth and how to use/what options are out there/etc. I would highly recommend contacting the store if you have questions. They've been very helpful during the almost 11 months we've been cloth diapering.

We do, too. We use Bum Genius 2.0 & 3.0, Fuzzibunz & Happy Heinys. I'm also starting to sew my own. I prefer pocket diapers, just because of the ease. I've never used prefolds but plan to w/ our next child. I REALLY wish there was a natural parenting store closer to our house- besides the one in Ann Arbor, there is one in Northville. I've never been in one & would probably be in heaven!
Here are some links to different online stores & such:

Jillian's Drawers has a trial kit that I've heard really good things about- you get several different diapers to try out so you can figure out what you like best.
Good luck!
It's a lot to digest but you'll learn tons in no time!
We cloth diaper as well (I live in Royal Oak). Our newborn stash was made up of prefolds and fitted...now that she is getting bigger out stash includes prefolds, fitteds, bum genius 3.0s' and a few others. We love it. If you have any questions: sarahbgutman@gmail.com
I think a pp mentioned tree city diapers in Ann Arbor...they are a great store and I have been told that they offer cd classes.
I love cloth diapering! I also have a website and would love to help you out with getting started with cloth. I have a newborn diaper rental service that you may be interested in. It is a great deal! I am in Brighton.
