Hungry all the time....

I am always hungry, I eat and 15min later I am hungry again. I don't know what to do any advice?

Re: Hungry all the time....

  • How far along are you?

My major hunger comes and goes.  I've had days/weeks where all I did was eat.  Then I go back to having a "normal" appetite.

The first trimester was the worst for me.  Just try to eat sensible snacks.

  • If you are adept at listening to your body's cues and you don't have a problem overeating, then go ahead and follow your body's cues.  But do it with nutritious foods, and nibble.  Like - a few raisins or seeds.  Try to work in some extra fruit or veggies, like eat some apples or a half an orange.  Maybe drink some milk or eat 4 oz of yogurt, or try a hard boiled egg.  If you make healthy choices, it's ok to eat a little more. You might be surprised how little it takes to curb your hunger.

Likewise, make sure that the full meals you are eating are in fact healthy choices that are filling and long-lasting.  Eat whole grains and lean proteins and make sure you are eating enough vegetables.

A lot of pregnant women find it easier to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals throughout the day than 3 largeish meals.

and drink lots and lots of water

  • Protein is supposed to keep you fuller longer....

I'm no nutritionist but from personal experience, I feel fuller after eating chicken, oatmeal, nuts, or a cereal like Kashi.

     Good Luck!
