I've seen it. It has been posted a couple of times on here, and I think the consensus is that it's a waste of money, and doesn't accurately detect anything that contributes to most fertility problems.
I don't think they should call it a fertility test since it only measures one factor of fertility -- the FSH hormone. Doctors do this test in their office, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. Plus, I'm sure it is FDA approved
No, but I'm tempted to. It seems like it would work. If the opks can test for LH, surely this could test for FSH.
That's what I'm thinking, only I'm almost too afraid to find out!
Just curious -- are you still "waiting to try" as your ticker says? If so, why are you looking at fetility tests? Sorry if I missed something.
Yes, we are going to begin ttc on our trip in September, when I'm over a year out of cancer treatments. I am rather curious if chemo rendered me infertile.

If only it was that easy...
This. It's not going to be able to give you any kind of accuracy, and there's really no reason to go into this if you don't need it.
Plus, if it comes up negative and someone gets pregnant, I can so see a lawsuit over the "faulty" test.
Very good point!

Oh, I'm sorry. I agree with Kdodge, don't stress yourself out with these tests. Talk to your dr. if you're nervous. Good luck!!!

This is something you should take up with your doctor. I would guess given your history, they may be willing to run you through some of the standard tests a bit earlier than normal.
I'd say if you've been through chemo treatments then maybe your dr. would be willing to run a few tests early on in the TTC process for you to assess if the chemo did have any negative impact on things. I wouldn't waste money on the store bought tests. This one is testing for FSH I think, which can easily and accurately be done with a blood draw on the 3rd day of your cycle.
I would definitely talk to your doctor. However, My Mom had been through radiation treatments, and 2 different kinds of chemo treatments, and then still had my beautiful sister and brother. My mom had breast cancer on and off for 11 years. I was in 6th grade when it all started, she had my sister the summer going into my freshmen year of highschool, got cancer again, did chemo again, then had my brother who is now six. So maybe everything will be fine for you! Fingers crossed!

Thank you! That's great to hear about your mother, she sounds like a strong lady. With the chemo/radiation combo I had, the risk of infertility was around 10 percent, which I suppose isn't that high, but I still worry. I should find an ob/gyn, I need to get my annual done, and I hated the dr. I was seeing so I needa new one. I'll be coming in with a whole list of questions, that's for sure!
