i just viewed this because i was wondering what person who was nine months pregnant want to make anything! lol. But i see you have a long way to go! I never made onsies sounds like a great idea and very crafty! did you try googling it?
I kid, I kid! I am SO glad to see you around these parts!
I did not, but my best friend made some with iron-ons that she got at Joanns. They are super fun. One has a skull and crossbones and says, "Arrgh Wipe Me Booty" LOL.
If you browse Etsy you will find a lot of cute ideas too - some are adorable and look pretty simple, fabric shaped animals or letters stitched onto the onesies.
I did try googling, and I get places where you can make them online but I want to do it at home. I figured the girls on 1st tri probably haven't got that far.

?
I have that EXACT iron-on and got it at hobby lobby. Cajun got me hooked on fabric crayons also to make some cute ones!?
Me and DH got to making one... its still in progress. We realized that we got the wrong fabric for the legs (we needed the elastic but had none ) and its sitting half completed in my craft bin. Go to Jo-Anns or any where they have paterns and get them for 2-4 dollars. The material is what's going to cost you. it took in all with cutting and sewing pieces all of 45 minutes before we realized that we needed that strechy fabric.
All in all if we did have the fabric we would have made one in less than an hour. The reason why it took us so long was just pining the fabric to the correctly and deciding if we wanted Small or Medium. (they don't have Ages on the patterns.
I am going to put my little one in it and take a picture of our attempt at hand made clothing!

Wow, so it never occured to me that she might mean actually making the onesie itself. LOL. I assumed she meant decorating them. You are seriously amazing if you can handmake the onesies!
Oh good ideas, I hadn't thought of that. I plan to buy the onsies and add to it. I will check on Joanns. I bought one at Once Upon a Child today that was somehow made by someone and says "leave the drama to your mama" I want to make some more cute ones like that.

Yeah, I was thinking who would want to spend that much time sewing a onesie when it's gonna get ruined so fast? Haha...glad you're just decorating them. I sew a snotload so PM me if you have a sewing or upholstery related question.

Stuff like this is what I mean - you wouldn't even need a sewing machine! And they are so adorable
