Are they usually low or across your entire stomach? I keep having pains, like cramps, but very very low every 7-10 minutes. Not sure if that's what it is.
When I was in L&D and finally realized what the pain I was having were contractions they were tightening of my whole entire stomach. I have had period like cramps since then in my lower abdomen, and I have heard those described as contractions as well.
All I know is this shooting pain across my abdomen, a tightening of my entire belly, and my back hurting at the same time.
So far most of mine have been low. Similiar to period cramps, with a shoting pain. My Dr says those are definitley contractions just more mild. The real deal should tighten your stomach and be felt higher.
When I have a contraction, it is accross my entire stomach. I also get menstrual type cramps that aren't contractions. My doc said that the cramping is from my ute getting ready to deliver the baby.
I am 30 weeks and for the last week have occasionally felt what I thought was my baby pushing my uterus out. He does push now (almost like he's stretching his legs). Sometimes it seems like he's pushing in one spot for a little too long -- could those be contractions? I had thought I was not yet feeling any contractions, but now I wonder if I'm simply not recognizing them as such. Thanks.
Re: Contractions
If they're very low, I'd call the dr. Everytime I've said that, they've wanted to see me. Especially if they feel like period cramps.
I've had them on my sides and across the middle and low. The low ones are the ones that seem to concern them.
