cradle cap behind the ear?

there is some scaly like crust stuff behind his ears . . . . mostly his right one (which is also the one that has more dry skin in the ear - not the canal- and wax in the canal) the crust comes off if i put a little baby oil gel backi there and then scrape them off do you think its cradle cap?  or something else? i can't think of anything else it could be . . .

  • ya - DD gets that too. I think it is cradle cap.

  • DS gets that, too.  He never got actual cradle cap, though.  IMO, this looks different than cradle cap.  The thing behind his ear is, uh, gooier before it dries and gets all crusty.  And I totally agree--he gets it worse behind the ear that's waxier!  Weird!
  • i asked our pedi about it and she said it's cradle cap. she suggested just what you're doing. use oil behind the ear and scrape it away!

  • DS has the same thing, but my pedi thinks its baby excema (he has a lot of excema). ?1% hydrocortisone seemed to help, but don't use that without talking to your pedi first.

  • K has this too.  I just make sure to wash behind her ears (sometimes I forget) and it is going away on its own.
