XP: Jellyroll fabric bundles

I guess I've been living in the quilting dark ages.  I've just started looking at fabric online and keep coming across these.

If you buy them, what do you use them for?  Quilts?  Is there enough in one roll for a decent size quilt?

Re: XP: Jellyroll fabric bundles

  • 1  jelly roll makes a 52" x 41", you need 2 to make a twin size quilt

That is what is on the label for one I got, I haven't actually used one yet.

  • I use mine for crafts and quilting, but there isn't enough in one roll for a decent size quilt.

  • 2 for a twin sized quilt would be $60-80 depending on fabric.  hrmmm... the designer fabrics might make it worth it as long as I was doing a strip-pieced quilt.
  • Have you been to Moda Bakeshop?  They have lots of great ideas for the Moda pre-cut sets.  I'm working on a rag rug with a honey bun - I bet you could use a jelly roll for something similar.
