I'm scheduled to have my HSG next week.  Any words of wisdom for me?  Is it a big deal?  I got all the paperwork from my doc, and then scheduled the appointment.  When I scheduled it, the woman said "no unprotected sex from now until the procedure."  My dr. never mentioned this, and it wasn't on the paperwork either.  Did anyone else get these instructions?  If so, did you go ahead and use a condom?  My DH is nervous about doing anything, even with a condom. 

 

Oh...and I just started clomid today too!  FUN FUN FUN!

    Well, we were to have the procedure in the days before Ovulation. I was to take a pregnancy test just in case before the test as well. They are using x-Ray over your uterus, so it would not be good if you were indeed pregnant.  We were not to have unprotected sex beforehand, but I was on the pill for that cycle, so it was a non-issue.

    Make sure that you take 4 advil before you go, because you can have some cramping after. Also, I would bring your own pad because you will leak some dye and fluid.

    I wonder why you are on clomid the same month. My Dr. would not let us stim until we had this test complete.

    Yeah they are probably just saying that because they wouldn't want you to be potentially pregnant for the test...no one told me that though but I went on day 13 of my cycle and knew I wasn't pg at that point.  Ditto taking some Advil or something before the test.  Besides that no real advice... I remember being so scared for it but it really isn't that bad in my opinion.
