Anyone else's OB tell you that? I know it sounds crazy, but I've been reading up on it online. Sounds like it is not too much of a problem but it is doubtful that labor will start until it fixes itself (if it does). C-section may be needed.

This is relatively common, esp before labour starts. The cervix is posterior & it makes exams more uncomfartable. Often early labour is your body workign just to brign that cervix forward & to thin it. A lot of women feel discouraged if they do not dilate, but effacement & cervical position are very important espeically if its your first baby.

My doc says the same thing about my cervix.. She said that when the cervix is completely effaced it should come forward. Nothing about complications or C-sections.
Re: Cervix is behind the baby's head
I had my first internal today and the doctor said he had to reach behind the baby's head to get to my cervix. Ouch!!!
My doctor didn't seem concerned and didn't mention anything about a c-section or complications.
