Feel like sharing travel tips about Boston? nbr

Planning a trip there and wondering what the best things to do are. We're going to a game at Fenway and visiting up near Tyngsboro where my Grandma is buried.

Other than that we're open to ideas. Also, is there a trick to getting plain old bleacher seats to a Sox game or are they always sold out? tia

    As far as tickets for a game to Fenway, we've had some success purchasing tickets the day of the game, a couple hours before the game starts.  If it's not a big game (like Red Sox v Yankees or something) or if it's a weekday game, you might luck out.

    When are you coming for a visit?  Some suggestions for things to do with a baby: walk around the Boston Common/Public Garden area and go on a swan boat ride, the New England Aquarium, the Museum of Science (my DD was fascinated with the butterfly room!), walk part of the freedom trail.

    If you're not averse to driving a little, you could always check out Plymouth or head north to Cape Anne (Rockport and Gloucester).

    I second the comment about the Aquarium--it's great! Boston Common has "Frog Pond" which is a shallow wading pool for kids, and a new big playground. It's near Charles St. which has cute boutiques and cafes. Newbury St. is great for strolling as well, people-watching, shopping.

    If you walk the freedom trail, you end up in the North End which is the Italian neighborhood--great food and pastry shops. Also in the N. End a really good raw/vegan restaurant--DH and I are omnivores but love this place, called Grezzo.

    All the recommendations you have so far are great.  Boston is a very walkable city in the spring, summer and fall.  You can always use the T if you get tired.  Newbury Street for shopping, the Common for green space, and the North End for dinner is my perfect day in Boston.  There is also Faneuil hall for more good outdoor shopping, and the new Rose Kennedy Greenway is a beautiful new space to walk along connecting the city to the harbor.  Another wonderful area is Beacon Hill, with narrow cobblestone streets and houses that are 200 years old.  Enjoy!
