Is it okay to eat ham on Easter?

I was not sure because of the big NO NO on lunchmeat- thought maybe this was the same idea. I hope my question is not too stupid!

Lunchmeat and a big cooked ham you would eat on Easter is different. They say you shouldn't eat lunch meat unless you heat it up first.

Of course it is. My doctor never said anything about lunch meat, chances of you getting listeria from it is slim to none. It can happen but isn't likely. Moderation is the Key

Cold lunch meat is ok too. I eat it all the time. As long as its from a reputable source. My doctor told me you can eat whatever you want in moderation....and that the chances of you getting listeria from lunch meat are less than you getting hit by a car walking down the street.

Unless your family is gathering 'round to open up the Oscar Mayer sliced ham package, the lunchmeat thing doesn't apply to Easter. A roast ham is not the same as lunchmeat.

I totally called that this post would be written a few days ago. I'm not making fun-- I just remembered all the posts about corned beef at St. Patty's Day.

The ham is cooked-- enjoy it! It is not lunch meat! And you can eat leftovers on a sandwich later, too-- it was cooked nice and hot during preparation.
