Temporary Nanny/Childcare help

I am looking for some temporary help with my twins - my husband has to go out of town next month for work for about a week and I think I will need a little help. We don't have any family in the area and nobody else really available to help out. I am anticipating that by the third or fourth day I may be hallucinating from lack of sleep and may just need a little break!! So, I'm thinking just someone to help during the day to allow me to get some sleep or get things done?

Any advice on this? Should I try to hire a part-time nanny for that week? Any other ideas? Any recommendations for a Nanny?

Thanks!?

Re: Temporary Nanny/Childcare help

  • It sounds like hiring a sitter would be helpful. I don't have anyone to recommend, but you can try the website care.com to search, there are lots of sitters on there and I think the site does background checks (not positive though).

  • You husband doesn't work for MS does he?  There's an "emergency childcare" benefit you could tap into..

There have been some changes to the MS childcare thing -- I think it gets taxed now so you may be better off finding someone outside this if you can.  I'd come but two Mom's and 4 babies might be worse than you alone Smile

  • I am currently out of work looking to make some extra money and I used to nanny many years ago. Plus, I live in the Bothell/Mill Creek area. Email me if you are interested - brianne.makanani@hotmail.com.
