Checklist/guide for the newly pregnant?

Does anyone remember using The Knot before their wedding - they had this fantastic guide that told you exactly when you should start doing certain things? Is there anything similar to this on The Bump? I am cautiously expecting (only 5 weeks) but we have a lot on our plate - including completely renovating our house before a baby would come - so it would be nice to have some things organized. I have never been around babies much, and I only have a couple of friends that I have seen go through pregnancies. Youngest in my family - you get the picture. I have absolutely no idea what to expect or what decisions to make at this point! When do you go to childbirth classes, when do you register for baby gifts, etc, etc? Thanks!

It is not as extensive as the checklist The Knot has for wedding planning, but yes, there is one.

When you go to thebump.com home page, on the left side there is a green menu bar with headings :tools, getting pregnant, pregnancy, etc.

Under pregnancy, the first one is "checklist." I would put the link, but that takes you to my checklist in progress.

It's very elementary, but it's a start.

You may want to look online for the hospital you will deliver at or your ob/gyn clinic or whatnot to see what you might find there. When I was pg, you couldn't take childbirth classes until you were 27 or 28wk along. They were all sign up, didn't cost anything (some places you may have to pay though), etc. I didn't register for baby gifts until I found out the gender, which is typically done around 20wk at the "big" u/s. Baby showers, IMO, are typically done anywhere from 27-36wk but it really depends on who is hosting, when schedules are free, etc. In the beginning of pg, you typically see the doctor 1x/month and towards the end it will be 2x/month and then 1x/week. You may or may not get an u/s at your appts. Depends on your doc and your insurance.
