PP bleeding - when will it stop?

At almost 3 weeks PP, I'm still bleeding.  It goes from a period-like flow to nearly nothing and then it seems to gear back up again!  How long should I expect to be bleeding?  I thought my doctor said a couple of weeks.

    Mine finally stopped just before my 6 week pp visit with the OB. And it did come and go - I would think it was stopping, then it would pick back up again!

    It will vary from person to person but I stopped completely between 5-6 weeks post partum.

    I know this isn't want you want to hear, but I bled for 8 weeks.  My OB told me at my 6 week check-up, which was 6 weeks 3 days after I gave birth, that if I was still bleeding in two weeks to call him.  It finally stopped a day or two shy of those two more weeks.  And, like yours, it would go from period level to next to nothing back to period like.  It sucked!

    Mine stopped after about 4 weeks. The amount varied from day to day, but just eventually got less and less. You are still in the normal range.

    I bled on and off like that until about 8 weeks. I think 6 weeks is pretty average.

    i was still spotting a bit at my 6w appt.... it can last a LONG time.
