Anyone hang the mobile from the ceiling?

I'm debating asking DH to do this with ours.  It finally came today (I tried to find it in the store but I could only get it online) and the bloody thing won't attach to our solid-end crib at all.  I'm thinking of having him attach it to a screw in the ceiling.  Not only can we use it, then, but when she starts to pull herself up we can raise it and she won't be able to reach it. 

Anyone else do anything like this?  Did it work?  TIA!

    what kind of mobile are we talking about? I have a very light butterfly one that I hung from a screw in hook. I might worry about anything heavier.

    me, i did it with abby and mikey. i used a ribbon that matched and hung it up there using a eye hole screw (or you could use a tack) and attached it with the ribbon on the mobile.

    We hung ours from the ceiling. DD loves to stare at it.

    Bonavita, but we're having the same problem, it seems.

    Sunny, it's this one here.  Obviously, I would just attach the music box and the flower/butterfly canopy thing.  I'm debating just returning it and getting a butterfly one that usually hangs from the ceiling anyway.

    oh ok.  guess it just depends on the type of mobile then.  i think for some of them the part that attaches to the crib is movable and you can somehow get it to fit on the bars.
