Which Spelling: Sophia or Sofia?

I've seen it spelled both ways. Which way do you prefer? Any reason why?[Poll]

  • honestly, i like both spellings - i know, not much help, LOL!  if i had to choose, i guess i would pick sophia.  my only reason for picking sophia is because it's more familiar to me.

  • I voted for Sophia, I think I just like the longer spelling, but Sofia is nice too.  I think Sofia is more common for Italians, so if you or DH are Italian, that might be a nice reason to choose Sofia over Sophia.

  • Even though I lived in Italy and love all things Italian, I much prefer Sophia.  It just looks more complete to me somehow.

  • I prefer Sophia.  Sofia reminds me of "sofa".
  • I like both, but I would use Sofia it it were my DC.

    That is how it is traditionally spelled in Sweden (as well as most european countries aside from France.)  It has been on and off of our list.
