3rd Trimester

would u go to a baseball game at 38+ weeks?

DH just got us tickets to the Dodger game (get this...) THE DAY BEFORE OUR SCHEDULED C-SECTION!

As much as I love going to the games, eating D-dogs, drinking beer, and singing that darn song! I'm not too sure that we should be going the day before the c-section.

And then maybe it's going to be really hot... Would you go?

  • I wouldn't go just cause of my comfort factor.  Those chairs would hurt so bad by about the 5th inning.  But sounds fun though.

  • I think the only thing that would stop me from going would be the uncomfortable chairs. Other than that, I would definitely go! Can you bring stadium cushions or something?

  • OMG! Go!  Get prepaired for your CS the day before the baseball game. Yesterday was opening day for the White Sox, I told DH we need to get at least a few games in before the baby comes b/c IDK if I'll have time or be in the mood to go after that.  Baseball games are SO fun, go and enjoy your last baseball game without having a child....who knows maybe you'll go in labor at the game...that would be a store to tell your future child.Wink
  • If it's close to home and your local hospital I say Why Not??  One last mommy daddy hoorah before your little one arrives!! Although are you allowed to eat all that junk before a C?  That would be hard for me if I coudln't LOL

  • I would definately go! You can always leave if you get too uncomfortable.  It'll be a while before you will be able to do anything like that again and it'll keep your mind off the c-section the next day.  Good quality time just you and DH too.  Have fun!

  • I would go.  Just make sure you bring a seat cushion and make sure you are going to be comfortable.

hmm, i'm not sure, i should call and ask, but i doubt it since the seats are so small.

  • I would go, but then when I was 39 weeks pregnant with DD I went to a Duke basketball game in Cameron Indoor Stadium with tickets for the student section.  It was standing room only and it was hot, but it was fun.  We left shortly after half-time because my DH wasn't feeling well.  I could have finished the game.

I can understand in your situation since it is the day before a scheduled c-section having reservations.  There might be things you want to get done, but it might also be nice to get out of the house for a bit.

  • sorry for the repeat submissions....either thebump is acting funny or its my computer that doesn't like this website.
  • Now I'm all excited to go! I won't be able to eat after midnight, so I'll eat all I can at the game! And I'm sure it'll get the stress off just thinking and counting down till the next morning... the game is in the evening, so I'll have the afternoon to finish up whatever needs to be done.

OMG! I'm so excited! Thanks ladies!!!!

  • I personally know I wouldn't be into it... the seats, the crowd, the noise, it sounds exhausting-    but if you love baseball, and think you will be comfortable- then go!
