how to put carseat in shopping cart?

silly question but i am clueless.. i have chico keyfit.  does it go sideways in the seat part of the cart, i want to go to target today unstead of watching tv for 13 hours!!!

    Good question!  I am terrible at doing it.  I always put it in the big part, which leaves NO room for anything in the cart.   I have the same carseat, but I'm sure there's an easy way to put it in the top!

    I don't know for sure but I was at Walmart yesterday for the first time with DS and I just put the seat in the large basket area facing me.  I also have the Chico keyfit.  I didn't try to put it into the seat part but that is because I feel like it could fall out of there.  I know putting it into the back takes up a lot of room but you still have the bottom to use.  Maybe someone else will have a better suggestion.

    In a regular shopping cart I feel safest putting the seat into the cart itself, leaves less room, but that's just me... or I carry him, or use on of the carts with the car seat attached to it...

    Pretty sure the Chiccos do not fit in the top of the shopping carts.

    i have a Graco Somethingorother, and it clicks in to the top part, but not sideways. i'm so short though (5 ft) that i put it in the basket area so i can see where i'm going!

    I have the Chicco Keyfit as well and I think it is designed not to fit in the top basket.  I just put it in the big part of the cart.

    It should go in the lower part of the cart (where your groceries go). ?It isn't safe to put it in the top where older children who can sit upright go b/c it doesn't "lock" in and therefore the carrier could fall w/LO in it.

    Chicco makes them in a way so you can't do this, because it's not safe. Just put it in the big part.

    I would never balance my carseat up on the top of the cart. It freaks me out. I just put it in the basket if I have to take the carseat or I wear my baby in the Ergo.
