I read about it on a few other boards and am curious..

Re: Anyone take inositol for PCOS?

  • I don't post over here often ( I'm usually on TTCAL), but I was curious to see if anyone had tried this as well.

    Thank you!

*PS.  My Dh's mom's maiden name is wheeler!

  • I took it for several months, just stopping last month.

The medical reports on it are quite impressive, and it is a pretty easy and cheap thing to do. I got mine from a health food store in powdered form for like $13 bucks. It is the consistancy of powdered sugar- very soft and fine powder and was tasteless in every liquid I mixed it in. (tip- I would put 2 tsp in a water bottle and shake it really well then drink it slowly throughout the morning. If I tried to drink it more quickly it never seemed to disolve all the way!)

Prior to starting it I had pretty regular 29 day cycles with no detectable ovulation. The first month on was a 49 day cycle and the next three were 38/39 day cycles. My ob did notice larger follies, but still have not had confirmed o's. (My follie checks were usually between day 14-16 usually though so it could have been that I was just o'ing later)

Since the studies on it showed that the women who did ovulate did so within 6-8 weeks of being on it, and I hadn't after being on it for over 5 months we made the descision to stop it last month.

If you have any other ?'s please let me know!
