Our girls have been on "ready to feed formula" since the nicu. At first we found it easier just to pour and feed. Now it is pretty pricey and we want to have them on powder. We have tried to give them powder to times (a whole day each). They didn't care for it and wouldn't eat much. Is there a trick to get them to like it?????

    What brand of ready to feed and powder are you using?  We used similac of both and the babies didn't seem to mind the switch, but we did it at one month.

    I wonder if they will just have to get used to it and when they are hungry enough they will eat?  Sorry -- I'm probably no help at all :)

    lol... it was both similac. The little diva's just want mommy and daddy to go broke! I guess I could just try it for longer than a day.

    we only used powder for a bit and then went back to ready feed for easiness sake. ?i've heard that you should mix the powder and than let it rest, so make all of your bottles for the day at one time and the longer it sits the better it gets (but no longer than 24 hours). ?also, what if you do 50% ready feed and 50% powdered to get them used to it and then slowly decreased the amount of ready feed while increasing the amount of powdered. ?

    we have the same problem.  we use similac RTF and tried the powder for 4 days.  They went from sleeping thru the night to only sleeping  about 4 hrs at a time and were hungry in half the time. So we switched back:(  I try to think of it as it is only a year:(   sorry i am not much help
