if you've announced that you're pregnant.. what is the most idiotic reaction you've received so far?
mine was not with this pregnancy, but my last one. My first pregnancy ended in M/C so last time we were beyond elated to see the heartbeat and know things looked good. When we told my MIL she said " oh, so this one isnt' dead, like the last time"
Re: a Poll IHO Mrs Garrison
My BIL
"Are you sure you two want to be having more kids? Is that a good idea?" Said in his usualy sneering "I know better than you" tone.
The kicker, is that this guy is 38, has three kids (all have different mothers) and lives in his parents basement because he can't afford his own place.

Oh my GOD! "This one isn't dead"?? People are amazing.
I've answered this question twice in two days, but my father said, "So, is it going to have arms and legs or are we going to have to keep it in the garage?" -_-
the first thing my mil said to us was 'well u better get rid of all your guns or im going to call child protective services on you'. yea she's a winner.
I have gotten " Are you SURE you want to have 3 kids??" Um well you see I am already KU so what do you think???? LOL
Oh I get the "Oh what if its another girl" Ok so then I will have 3 girls that will cause lots of havic when puberty strikes.
Because DH and I were originally going to wait a couple years .. some of our family members keep asking if it was an accident.
That is soooo annoying!!!! And rude!!!!
NO IT WAS NOT AND ACCIDENT THANK YOU!
That is one of the most awful things I've ever heard!
Are you my sister? My dad would SO say the same thing, same twisted sense of humor!
Ditto - I don't know what I would have done to respond, but it wouldn't have been good. Do you still talk to this woman?
My mother said my pregnancy was "bittersweet" because her dog wasn't around anymore (we put her to sleep 2 wks before). I know it doesn't compare in the slightest, but it still pissed me off.
HA! That's exactly it, too. He thinks he's being funny and says things like that all the time. I even held my breath waiting for his response when we told him, knowing something ridiculous was coming. No arms and no legs though, Dad? Really??
I haven't gotten any rude comments. Yet.
Oh wait - a friend's sister saw me and didn't know that I was pregnant again. She asked her sister if I was because I looked it.
At like, 6 weeks. Thanks!
WTH???? Your MIL actually said that??? I would have freaked and refused to let her have anything to do with the baby or you for that matter!! How insensitive!
We didn't tell anyone we were trying or even hint at it.
When we told my DH's grandma (who I love and is wonderful) she said "Was it an accident?"
Uhh..
Then the other weirdest thing was my mother-in-law wanted to touch my belly. That was sort of cute..but I said jokingly to her "You know it's just fat right now not a baby" and she said "Oh I know".
