What do you do "down there" when you can't reach it? Is it okay to get waxed when you're pregnant? Hope I don't get flamed, but I'm really wanting to know.
I hear a lot of women say they either have their hubby do it, use a mirror, do it blind, or just leave it alone. Personal preference I guess. You can wax, but heard it's more painful during pregnancy.
My mom, who used to work prenatal health care, assures me that being hairy doesn't scare the doctors at all. If you're clean, you're good.
With all the different kinds of STD's and yeast infections that they commonly see, being a little hairy is a welcome site.
She has shared stories with me (pre-pregnancy when I had to go in for cysts and were concerned about being hairy) that I will not share here, as thinking of them makes me want to go vomit. Just trust me, being a little hairy is fine with the doctors!!

Meh, waxing is not so bad I just took a Tylenol as usual and I was never NOT able to reach to shave that area or even my legs...even at 40w with either pregnancy.
If you lay in the tub on your side you will be able to reach from the back to get under the bits and then you lay on your back and be able to get at least the bikini line, then get a man's trimmer and just trim down the rest short so its not 70s style porn star bush.
I haven't decided if I'm going to continue getting bikini waxes yet, but DH said he'll take care of it for me if I decide to not go back. It's not really a pain issue, since everyone said how terrible bikini waxes are and I didn't find them that bad at all---I'd recommend to a friend, it's an issue of rather spending the money on baby stuff
I had the same thought! Like what do Drs. think when I go get my annual...what is normal?
Really they've seen everything so they don't think anything of it. I worked as an Emergency Room Technician for a couple of years before starting physician assistant school and I once asked a couple of doctors what kind "do" do they see the most. They said they actually don't know because they don't think much of it, to them it's about going in, examining, and then move on because there's usually more patients to be seen.
Now me, since I had to chaperon the exams, noticed that the younger crowd (teens to twenties) tends to have it completely shaven (as my mom calls it, like a baby's bottom). Women in their 30s are either bushy with the biking zone shaven, or have the landing strip going on. I don't remember many 50 year olds getting a pelvic exam but from assisting with foleys, they are natural. Preggers about to pop are usually all hair. Rarely did I see an exception to this rule.

As one in the healthcare field, I can assure you that we do not blink an eye at whatever you've got going on down there; it really doesn't even register. We see so many patients a day, every day, that we're completely desensitized and task-oriented.
Last time I went in, she said that it's best to keep it up if you're planning to wax at the end to keep the pain threshold down. She said as long as you keep waxing throughout the pregnancy it shouldn't hurt any more than usual toward the end. She also said she does people days before their due dates all the time!
Of course, this may just be an attempt on her part not to lose a client
Re: For those who know?
That entire area is more sensitive as it's full of more blood.

I wouldn't do the waxing thing... too painful at that point. ?
haha...no its not but sometimes I really don't want him down there...I just want to get it done...but good idea!
