I've been unfortunate to come down with a nasty cold. : ( I've been healthy all year, and of course my luck ends now! Any remedies that are tried, true, and safe? I've been drinking lots of fluids all day, have been sleeping, and now have saline nose spray. I know that most sources say that Tylenol is safe but they all say to speak to your doctor first. Any thoughts on taking some Tylenol? I really don't want to, but I'm getting worse and can feel that burn in my glands and ears. I may wait and see if I feel any better in the morning or can get through to a nurse line at the doctor.
Thanks to my coughing kids this week who refuse to wash their hands. I swear when I send them back in the bathroom they count to five and run back out : (

I had a cold about 2 months ago. I stuck to Tylenol Sinus (which was on my list of "safe" medications to take from the dr.) and Vitamin C drops. Within about 2 days I felt better.
My OB has a Web site for his office and on it they have a list of medications that are safe to take while pregnant. Does your new office have a Web site that might include something like this? Generally Tylenol is safe though.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. Holly, I might check out your office's list if I can't get through to anyone today. My office doesn't have a list at least that I can find, but it does seem that Tylenol is generally safe and recommended by most.
Christina, I did read that sudafed is safe. A few years ago when I took sudafed, it made my heart race so I'll probably stay away. Hopefully I can continue with liquids and maybe some Tylenol or Tylenol sinus.
Thank you!?
tylenol is safe -follow the dosing on the package.
A neti pot might help, too. I got a sinus infection after Ali was born and I used the Neti pot to help clear out my nose.
Thanks for the advice...I'm not feeling a ton better today, but at least tomorrow is my last day of work until next Tuesday.
On the other hand, my kids were so cute today...a few have noticed that I'm without my daily Starbucks (although it was decaf anyway) these days and asked of I'm sick because I didn't have my daily coffee : )
Friday I had a bad case of the baby bloat and one of my kids came up to me, poked me in the stomach and said "Mrs. C are you having a baby in there?" I gave him a stern no and told him to sit down...I'm no where ready for them to be guessing!
Everything is fair game with kids!
