We have DD's 12 month appointment next week. At 9 months our ped talked about having her development evaluated by a specialist at 12 months. I know every baby is different but I wanted to get an average feel for the following things to help me get my thoughts in order. So when did your baby....

1. Say a word other then mama or dada

2. Take steps on their own

5. First waved at 8 months, but not reguarly until 10+

6. Still doesn't point (which makes me sad, bc I think it's hilarious when babies point!)

7. Shakes his head no, I think it's awhile until they shake their head yes?

7 - point - not sure, he has always been a big pointer

Many of these seem like it is normal for them not to happen by 12 mos. If you don't mind me asking, what does DC do/not do that concerns your pedi?

1. Say a word other then mama or dada He doesn't officially say them yet. He still just babbles them. His two words are "No" and "baba" (for bottle). He started saying no at 10 months, and baba within the past week.

clap: not sure. 10 months?

Wave: not yet

point: not yet... at least, not a definitive point. He kind of reaches for stuff to indicate that he wants it but he doesn't do the one-finger point

shake head: not yet

4. Clap within the last month or so, but has only done it a few times when I'm doing it first

5. Wave can't remember! 9 months?? 10 months??

6. Point not yet, but pedi said it's okay - as long as he's doing things to get my attention

7. Shake head yes and no not yet - shook his head no months ago, but not with any sort of purpose
