  I'm not PG but interested in a home birth when the time comes. ?If you're in the suburbs, here is a link I found for a woman in Lake County. ?Maybe she would go to the city if you needed it.

  I live in Gurnee and we are planning a homebirth with Debbie Boucher.  (yourbirth.com)She is the only homebirth midwife in Lake County.  Pretty sad.... We looked into using Homefirst (they came recommended by a friend) but I wasn't very happy with their prenatal care.  I just wanted more personal attention that a midwife could provide.  I know you may have more options if you live in the city.  There is also a group of midwives that work at the birth center attached to Ressurrection Hospital. (too far of a drive for us)  But they may be able to rec someone in your area too.  Good luck in your search. I hope to be having our baby in a few days!
