Please tell me I'm crazy to think my beautiful 5 month old could be fat. I think people's comments are just giving DH and I a complex. When an old man said he was a "husky little fella" the other day, I almost cried. He's 105th percentile for weight for his age, 94th for height. Look at these cheeks and he's even got wrist fat!
Re: Is my beautiful boy fat?
DD is in the 97th percentile for both weight and height and people call her chubby also (I even had someone call her thick the other day!) it can get annoying but I know she's healthy and not overweight. Plus I love DD's wrist fat! lol
Oh and your little man is NOT fat?
OMG - I just want to squeeze him!!!!!!!!!!
105 and 94 seem pretty proportional to me. ?He just seems big for his age, not fat. ?=) ?I really do want to squeeze him!?
Oh Fiasco - he is beautiful - perfect. If your doctor isnt worried then neither should you be. My DD was born a preemie and weighed 4 lbs. Flashforward 3 months and she is now 13 lbs!!!! She is a chunky lil girl and I for one wouldnt have her any other way. Oh and she is short (19 inches and no change since her 2 check up - lol).
So I say call my baby fat / chunky whatever - and I will tell you she is healthy.
P.S. - My baby got fat wrist too...lol...I wouldnt want her any other way.
aww...I get upset sometimes cause my little girl is so..chubby, and when people say it, it brings me to tears.
I'm not going to starve my baby.
Your baby is a handsome fella! Don't listen to anyone. Look how happy he is!
why are you worried about what other people think? ?we get comments all the time and i just shrug them off. ?who cares? ?he's a baby!!
ps - he's very cute. ?and not fat.?
You are. Simmer. Maybe The_Jen could offer some insight.
"When it comes to sleeping, whatever your baby does is normal. If one thing has damaged parents enjoyment of their babies, it's rigid expectations about how and when the baby should sleep." ~ James McKenna, Ph.D., Mother Baby Behavioral Sleep Center, University of Notre Dame
There is no such thing. He is somehow bigger than 105% of all other babies? Hrmmm...
I know, LOL! It's silly pedi math. I guess when they are off the charts they extrapolate to figure out just how far off the charts. Thanks for making me feel better ladies. I guess I knew I had nothing to worry about but was fishing for compliments (and reassurance) from other mamas!
