And it was fabulous. No pump parts to wash, no prepping for tomorrow because it is all still sitting there from when I didn't pump this morning.
Ever since DD was born I've been pumping at least once a day. It started out with her in the NICU for seizures and not able to be on the breasts with her meds and all the monitoring wires. Then I took advantage of my supply while on maternity leave and would nurse from one side and pump the other every morning. Obviously when I went back to work it is pumping multiple times per day and since I generally pump in the morning due to having to be at work before DD wakes, I'm always stuck pumping at the same time on the weekends too.
Today the stars aligned as DD's once a night nursing was late enough that I did not wake up super engorged and then she woke up a little earlier than usual, before I got around to pumping. I know some of this not being crazy engorged in the morning is the 6month supply decrease and I worry every day about a day I can't keep up with her needs. It was still so nice to be pump-free for one day!
