Dreft

Did you (will you) all use Dreft instead of regular detergent to wash baby bedding/clothes? What about the mattress pad?

I was going to wash the sheets and maybe some of my newborn clothes, but only have regular All detergent.  I already washed the matress pad in regular detergent...

  • You dont have to use dreft...But you should use something that is free and clear? i think is what its called! lol I bought dreft but I wont buy it again! it was expensive when you can just use Tide free and clear.

  • I read in another post that someone was using Tide free and clearn, or All free....I think you want to stay away from detergent with dyes and perfumes though.....im not sure...im not help :(  Sorry
  • I use the same Free and Clear detergent the whole family uses. We all have sensitive skin so something tells me little man will follow suit. If he has a reaction, then I will buy a seperate detergent for him.

Bought Dreft with DD and it was a waste of money.

I washed everything!! Right down to stuffed animals/soft toys. I figured if it was touching skin or going in the mouth I wanted it washed/cleaned.

  • I have been using Tide free.
  • I've always used All Free and Clear. ?Never used dreft and we did fine.
  • I will NOT use Dreft! It has harsh perfumes in it that can irritate baby's skin. I'll be using Crunchy Clean just like I have been for the past few months.

  • I just realized that they don't make Dreft for front-loading washing machines, so I won't be able to use it.  Will have to go for one of the Free and Clear brands that go in front loaders.

Crunchy Clean here too!  It's so hard to pick which scent though...even though it doesn't really leave a scent on the clothes!

  • We use All Free and Clear.  Dreft is expensive and has a lot of perfume (For me)
  • I washed all of DS' stuff with Seventh Generation detergent. It is free of any dyes or fragrances. I used the one that we normally use for laundry, but I believe that they also have detergent for baby.
  • I bought Purex Free and Clear.
