wdyt will happen at my next ob appt?

32 week appt, should be just a "belly check" per what the doctor told me last time. but i have had some abdominal soreness, the triage nurse didn't seem concerned but it was really bad for an hour or so after i think i pulled a muscle. i'm pretty much fine now but am wondering if he'll want to do an internal or ultrasound or anything like that. reason for asking is that i'm planning to bring my 2 yo daughter. she'll be fine with a standard belly check quick appt, but i have no idea what i'd do with her if he wanted to do a surprise internal... watching mom have to be on the table like that would not be okay with her. think you'd still bring her?

    I would think it would be a quick belly check....they'll ask you if the baby's movements have been normal stuff like that.  If yes, they may not check you--internals are not usually done until at least 35 weeks.  If they do an US, it shouldn't be bad with your daughter there...I doubt you'd be getting an internal that early unless they really thought something was wrong.  An US would be sufficient probably.

    I would just call and double check an ask! At my doctors office i just leave a message for my doctor an then she calls me back within the day..  Its worth a shot

    At my office each room has a seat with a small area around it and a curtain that they can put around. I've seen mom's bring their kids in for stuff. I'd assume they can just put the child in the seat, give them a toy or coloring book, and close the curtain.?

    I would call and check.  Last week I was 33 wks and they did an internal and external ultrasound.  I had a concern though, so I think that is the nly reason they did the internal u/s. 

    Just call to be on the safe side.

    For a pulled muscle they may give you a non stress test.  That is what they did for me.  I highly doubt they would do an internal at 32 weeks.

    I'd bring your DD in a stroller and just turn the stroller around so she can't see what's going in if an internal is done.  Bring a book or something to entertain her.
