I'm seeing people saying that their babies are smiling at them as early as 4 weeks and I've seen pictures of 6 week olds smiling. ?My baby smiles involuntarily but not on purpose yet. ?Should I be concerned? ?
When should they start really connecting and smiling at you?
TIA ?
Re: When did your baby first smile in response to you?
Mine was smiling pretty regularly it seems from 1 month (if not earlier). I really don't remember exactly but it seems like she always smiled. I don't know when specifically they "should" smile...might want to check with doc on that motor skill.
DS started smiling around 6 weeks. First it was at his mobile, and then over time he started smiling at us.?
Even if your baby is behind on one or two of their milestones, which your baby isn't, it isn't a reason to worry. Some babies are just slower at certain things because they are concentrating on learning something else first; they are learning to do things in a slightly different order. Our doctor said the only thing he worries about during the first few months is if they aren't hitting ANY of their milestones or if they aren't making eye contact by 4 months.
Here is a milestone chart, if you were wondering.
