  My DD's first "real" shoes were Nike sandals with very flexible soles (Sunray). She's on her 3rd pair now. They're from Famous Footwear. She's also had a pair of Nike tennies (Kohls) and Stride Rite Mary Jane-type tennies (Marshalls).

  DD still wears her pedipeds outside, but I just bought her a pair of stride rite tennis shoes from the outlet, they are still flexible but have the harder sole
