Hopefully this will be a chance for us to connect and provide additional support on our losses with other women who understand. Angel Info: I was pregnant with twins. When I was 21 weeks, 3 days pregnant, on Valentine's Day 2008, I went to the OB for a regular appointment and they could only find one heartbeat. Ultrasound confirmed that our little girl had passed away. I continued to carry her for the next 4 months while her brother grew and happily (and sadly) our son was born healthy and I also delivered our stillborn daughter. We never found out what happened to her. I've handled it pretty well until recently.... now Valentine's Day is coming up again and I've been a basket case.... wanting to celebrate our son's first valentine's day but not being able to bring myself to even think about celebrating on such a horrible day!

He was born still at 8:40 am on February 17, 2008. Autopsy results confirmed that his lungs were full of meconium which caused him to not be able to breath.

Duncan Francisco was born at 8:30 pm (still, but at that point, it still is considered a mc) and Draven Lauritz was born alive at 2:30 am on March 3rd. He lived for 20 minutes. We had been TTC for 6 years before I got pg and I so proud to be his mommy even though he is in heaven. I know he is always by my side protecting me and giving me angel kisses.

Angel Info: Heather Ann was born January 26, 2009 at 27w2d. She was stillborn. Still waiting for the results of the placental pathology and autopsy. Not sure what caused this, but I had severe IUGR, the placenta was full of blood clots, amniotic fluid was almost non-existent by the end, and there were anomalies with the blood flow in the cord/baby. Discovered uterine septum that probably caused most, if not all, of the issues.

First off, sorry this is posted on Thursday afternoon instead of Wednesday morning. We are doing remodeling at work and are all sitting in the same room in a temp. office which hinders my bump time. I am doing ok. I have a doctors appointment and u/s next week. I am really worried because my bp has been up again lately at home so I am probably going to go back on meds next week I bet. Otherwise my heparin shots are going fine and I am pretty sure I am feeling Cookie move already which is very reassuring.
I hope you don't mind recycling some questions but I know that some of these questions will be helpful for new people joining the group. We attended one local group together, but it only met once a month and we couldn't go until it had already been two months after our loss so we just didn't find it has helpful as it could of been. I did attend two individual therapy sessions which I think were very helpful at giving me tips on how to deal with my grief when it was inappropriate to break down and cry. It always was good to talk to a outsider I think.
I have a degree in Architecture. I am however not registered because I have procrastinated taking my exam. I don't know why I am such a procrastinator on this issue. I am also thankful that my firm has work to do right now because a bad economy is not good for the business I am in.
1. Please feel free to give a general update. I am taking it day day. Healing physically but Im on an emotional roller coaster. I am planning Grace's memorial service for Sunday. I am really worried that I will be a blubbering mess the entire service. I am also waiting for the results of the tests they did on my placenta to find out what caused the uterine infection that caused my pre-term labor and Grace to be born too early to survive. I should have the results by the 17th. I am looking forward to my f/u appt on the 17th to get some answers and find out if it would happen again. In limbo as to whether or not to ttc again...
2. PG related QOTD: Have you attended a local support group or individual therapy? Did you find it helpful? I I attended my first counseling session with my pastor yesterday. I think it was helpful, he put things in a whole new perspective for me. I look forward to meeting with him again. I dont think I am up to going to a support group yet, I am still too emotional.
3. Non-PG related QOTD: What is your profession? Stay at home mom and I also work part-time in my DH's office (in our house) for his heating & cooling company. But my #1 job is being a mom which means taking kids to school, going on fieldtrips, picking them up, cleaning house, etc...

I have an appt tomorrow with my OB.. I'm kind of worried because I've been having a few contractions and some discharge. I'm hoping it's nothing. I'm also going to began NST's twice a week beginning next week; I'm not sure what to expect.
2. PG related QOTD: Have you attended a local support group or individual therapy? Did you find it helpful?
Yes. I attended group therapy for 3 weeks, and individual therapy sessions for 3 months. The group sessions went okay. They did help somewhat except that some days the mixed it with people that had other issues (ie: divorce, losing jobs, and others). The individual sessions went better. My therapist was great... except that I made her cry a few times.
3. Non-PG related QOTD: What is your profession? I'm a paralegal. I love my job.
4. Any suggestion of either QOTD? No.

Rainbow babies:1. I just had an OB appt today, and everything still looks fine. I go next week to the peri for an u/s. I'm hoping that provides us with a bit of reassurance. I'm actually feeling a lot less anxiety, which makes me happy. I hope to get excited soon.
2. I have attended a monthly support group since last June for parents who've lost babies through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. It has been really helpful -- mostly in knowing that I'm not alone, and that there are other people out there who feel the same way I do. I also found it helpful to hear from some of the "veterans" what to expect and some coping strategies with difficult situations like going to a baby shower, approaching the due date, and holidays. I just went this week for the first time to the "spin-off" group for people who are pregnant after a loss... so far it seems like it will help when the anxiety hits.

- I did individual therapy for 6 months after losing Micah. I found it very helpful since I was completely lost afterwards. I never did break down or anything but somehow did feel better everytime I left .. I sometimes wonder about the group sessions but just couldn't bring myself to do them

Angel Info: I went into triage after not feeling movement on Friday, March 20, 2009. No heartbeat was detected and my husband and I were devestated and in complete shock, as our baby's due date was so close, (April 11th). I was induced that Friday and delivered a baby girl, 6 lbs. 5 oz. and beautiful on Sunday, March 22, 2009. We named our baby "Hope", which symbolizes so perfectly what she is and means to us. No know cause for why she was taken from us.
Our hospital has provided us with free counseling and there is a support group in the area, which I plan to look into... We also have great family, friends and church as support.
I am an elementary school teacher.
1. Please feel free to give a general update. We have an u/s scheduled for next week, where the doctor will look for thickened skin on the back of the baby's neck...i guess thickened skin in a good indication of a heart defect or some other genetic disorder. They did an u/s last week, and looking real quickly, the doc didn't see anything, so I'm hoping everything continues to go well.
2. PG related QOTD: Have you attended a local support group or individual therapy? Did you find it helpful? I did not. I went back and forth on it, and I decided that I didn't want to focus on losing Jack, I wanted to remember the good 8 days we had (the 9th wasn't so great). I think I heal better on my own terms. It sounds odd, but I found talking to Jack helped alot too. Instead of listening to the radio on the way home from work, I would talk to him like he was there..tell him about work, or ask him what he thought I should make his Daddy for work. Other times, I would tell him how I missed him, and loved him..I don't know..I would just talk to him. It got my emotions out in the open, without having someone write down every word I said.
3. Non-PG related QOTD: What is your profession? I work for a bank in their default department (fancy name for collections). I wouldn't say I love my job, but I don't hate it either. Right now, with the economy being the way it is..I talk to alot of people that have lost everything..their home, their cars, their jobs, even their spouses..and they want us to help...and alot of times, we can't. And I have too big of a heart to be mean to people, even if they are late on their payments. I don't know what is really going on..I don't know what their life is like...it's not like being mean to them is going to get the payment any sooner.

1. Please feel free to give a general update. I can't remember what I've updated on now and what I haven't. Basically we are still waiting to get the go-ahead from my OB to TTC again. I have an appt. May 7 and I'm hoping after that we can start trying again. I'm starting to have better days again. I've had a lot of stress at work lately and that hasn't helped with trying to think more positively and focus less on my grieving. It's such a rollercoaster. But I think I'm on the uphill climb again.
2. PG related QOTD: Have you attended a local support group or individual therapy? Did you find it helpful? I didn't. My support group has been this board. I can't say enough good things about it.
3. Non-PG related QOTD: What is your profession? I'm an office manager
4. Any suggestion of either QOTD? Since we are recycling some questions, how about a recipe to share? I know I need some healthier suggestions. =-)

info still born little girl at 27 weeks. felt decreased fetal movement and an ultrasound confirmed there was no heartbeat. no known cause ever found, never named her but I call her sarah.
update: currently 27 weeks pregnant and scared shitless, due July 2009
